We were super excited to start the day because we were fortunate that the rain held off so we could go horseback riding and to the Biltmore Estate!
Cheryl from Buffalo Creek helped to set up our ride with Jon. Jon’s dogs loved Cayden!Casey rode Oscar. Cayden rode Cinnamon, the slowpoke. 😀I rode Bonnie, and Mike rode Montana. Jon leading the way with Casey following Jon’s property was beautiful. Come on, Cinnamon! Cinnamon actually trotted and Cayden just crushed it! It was his first time riding. Soooo proud of him!We had such a wonderful time and would recommend Panther Creek Outfitters!
After the ride, it was time to drive about 40 minutes to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina.
The mansion is 179,000 square feet and rests on 8,000 acres. At one time, the property was 125,000 acres, but Vanderbilt’s wife sold it to the department of the interior so it would remain untouched—-a national forest. The gardens on the property are amazing. Frederick Law Olmsted was one of the greatest landscape designers. He designed the gardens on the Biltmore property and was a pioneer in forestry. The laundry room was incredible. This was one of the larger rooms with washing machines, dryers that used radiant heat—all of which was way ahead of its time.

The tour was incredible and showed many rooms of the 250 rooms that are in the mansion. The Biltmore remains the largest home in the United States and its property and former property is forever untouchable ❤️.
After touring the Biltmore, we stopped for ice cream in Asheville at Sunshine Sammies. They had incredible ice cream sandwiches made from their homemade cookies and ice cream. It was delicious and we highly recommend it!
After Sunshine Sammies, we stopped at a microbrewery called Bhramari in Asheville. Bhramari is the Hindu goddess of bees.

It was a wonderful day and we were able to get all of our fun in before the rain came. ❤️
Special shout out to my dad who went on the honor flight the day before his birthday. We were sorry to miss two very special days for him so we had a sign out in his yard to show our love. So glad you finally got the hero’s welcome home you deserved, dad! Can’t wait to hear all about it!
I’ve never done a blog before but my husband suggested we start one so we can capture our memories and share what we learn. Let the adventures begin!
